Rare items with bizzare attributes

#1 Post by pheonix89 »

Had a rare pair of gauntlets with only an antimagic power source show up that had +mana on them. How does that work?

Egoes are gained independent of each other. As far as I know, there is no blacklist of ego combinations, so you can easily get something like that. Though perhaps there should be.

As a note, though, Druids from the Verdant Class Pack would actually use those really well. They have both spellcasting and the ability to use and gain bonuses from antimagic gear.
I'm not crying. I'm offering a sacrifice to DarkGod in hopes he'll show favor to me.

It hasn't worked yet.

Actually I'm pretty sure you can't have items that are simultaneously arcane and antimagic powered. Thing is that it didn't have an arcane power source - just antimagic.

Can you gain +mana from master crafted gear? Because you can have master crafted antimagic gear no problem. Or nature gear?

I think such blacklists are a good idea. It is very annoying to find caster items that have antimagic.

There are a few weird interactions in the powers generation system used for rare items with antimagic.

Also, such an item wouldn't be of any use for a Druid.

I've not played with the Verdant Pack, only read about it, so I stand corrected.

Do you know of any other examples off the top of your head, HousePet?

The biggest one is randomly assigning the Antimagic power source when getting a merchant artifact made.

That would be when it assigns the antimagic theme instead of using it as an ego, right?

I thought that had been fixed a few updates ago.

Yeah, but it can randomly assign a power source too.
