Unawakened enemies take 0 damage from burning wake/inferno

I'm a wildfire archmage in Vor Armory. When I stay outside range 10 with enemies and don't have line of sight, they don't "activate".
I can cast inferno (for example) to hit enemies which don't meet either of these criteria but those enemies take 0 damage.

This makes excellent sense from a fun game point of view (wildfire archmages are already overpowered), but not very much in-world.

Vaulted enemies are specificaly not acting at all until you enter their line of sight.
I'm not sure if Arcane Eyeing them will help, but it might.

This is intentional. Things not making sense in-world is sometimes a necessary evil in order to have a functional game.

Yep vault weirdness. Its been awhile but otherwise an Alchemist could just toss bombs from outta sight. One of the best things about the alchemists golem is that you can retain control up to 18 grids making it the perfect patsy err.. door man err.. advance scout.

So you can open the door with the golem ( and I believe activate the out of mind cheevo) and the lesser enemies will have a go at you but the greater ones simply won't activate until you bring your main character into their line of sight. No matter how awesomely your golem is doing the funky chicken or calling names and just generally owning at trolling ( awww whos a pretty wyrm..whos a pretty wyrm...) they won't respond.

Its a pretty specific vault and I think the only one just that out and out ignored my golem.
