GRRR!
Im EXTREMELY pissed atm.
I was in Old Forest with a promising Necromancer.
Run into one of theese forts with a lot of out of depth monsters.
Took me 2 hours to cleap up to the last tower which has 4 (or more) elite patch trolls.
I kill one. I kill two. Lot of work.
I go towards the treasure filled tower and a new troll comes out.
I cast Rigor Mortis, I cast confusion, I cast Impending doom. I get stunned.
I move down the corridor with the troll in my heals.
He is going down but so am I.
Still no fear. I have a lot of life left and this should be easy.
My teleport is 1 move from beeing rdy (he stunned it).
I know Phase Door is not OK in this fort (always fizzles) but I wanna try it anyway.
So I cast this look in the future time spell I got from helping someone.
The spell activates the time split. I try Phase Door, but as expected it doesnt work.
I run and all works fine. After 1 move the teleport is OK again.
The time split is over and I return.
BUT NOW THERE ARE TWO trolls!!!!!
Surrounding me.
This set up is NOT what it was before the spell.
Needless to say I am fast killed before the teleport is rdy again.
GRRRR Im angry.

Re: GRRR Killed by a patch troll
You should mention in the topic title that the issue was Precognition.
My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.

Thank you.HousePet wrote:You should mention in the topic title that the issue was Precognition.
Topic is now fixed.
Re: GRRR Killed by a patch troll (PRECOGNITION fail)
Splitting the time stream has some bugs. The more common one seems to be staying dead if you die during a split, but other things can happen. I want to go through the code to troubleshoot it at some point, but I think Shibari mentioned that he has already and didn't find anything amiss. With that being the case, it's probably going to take a time consuming brute-force "trace everything" approach to find it, so the issue isn't likely to be found anytime soon.
So far I've taken the advice of always ending Precognition at least one turn early if you are in a dangerous situation rather than letting the timer expire—and more importantly, end it before you die in the split. Doing that, I thankfully haven't experienced the bug myself.
