Guys, I can hop in with the ghost visuals, but need a clarification on equipable items - will there be any or not. I need to know that in order to proceed - if there are displayed items involved, I'll use some existing outlines (human for example, as I did with Draconians), but if they won't be showing, I can just go wild ;).

Personally I like the equipped items shown on the character model. Perhaps with the Ghost though I would imagine weapons being the "important" ones while something like body armor won't matter much. What are other thinking?
On the other hand "rex going wild" sounds tasty.
Stronk is a potent combatant with a terrifying appearance.

The Ghost in this current iteration has no restrictions on equipables. But I would say for visuals the only important ones to show would be the weapons(could we get some ghostified versions of these weapons by chance?).

EDIT: After a series of incantations and the sacrifice of a watermelon(sorry was fresh out of goats) I present to you the first version of the ghost addon

Most certainly eerie glow and ghastly transparency will be involved in the playerdoll rework, that will be transferred to all wielded pieces from the material world. As for bodygear I think it will be even more ethereal and shrouded in wisps of nothingness.

I can't promise the set for today, but in a day or two it will be ready to scare the living :).

(And by all means, we must resupply Forger101 with goats, be they even simulated ones!)

Yay! Ghosts! Been busy with real life so I haven't even started my computer for a week. I'ma hop on and try that right now.

EDIT: Having played a while with Ghost Necromancer I got into thinking if it would be justified to add Apsorption tree into their racials? The current ones are rather nice, so there really isn't any room for more but it'd be nice to get it.
Willpower based race could theoretically be able to telewield stuff and resist elements with their mind. Would it be overpowered?

Well I can immediately think of two broken combos if we gave ghosts Absorption; IIRC TK weapons don't break stealth so anything with stealth would be broken, and Absorption plus solipsism makes for unusually tanky ghost solipsists.

I do want another non-afflicted category for ghosts, because 3 of the 4 categories they get are from cursed. I will upload the addon to the tome site as soon as we get some better graphics from the awesome rexorcorum. Don't know how long that will be since I'm guessing that DG is having him do some things right now.

Yeah, sorry for not delivering, but I've started the spell / skills gfx overhaul and it's eating all my time atm. I have nailed the ghost and equipment looks, so will need just to make them :P.

Without a doubt, but look at it that way - the better the quality of the addons, the better the quality of the game as a whole, thus rexo's addon support brings more tears for the throne ;).

So. I took an evening off vanilla ToME and came up with these fellas:

Ghost, male ----------- Ghost, female

And here is my suggestion for the equipment:
  • Upper body & headgear & hands: 50% opacity;
  • Footwear & lower body: 10% opacity;
  • Weapons and such: 90% opacity;
  • Cloak: 20% opacity;
The result is this:

I haven't playtested the files yet, because I would like to hear your opinion before starting to mass-tweak the transparency of all items :)

Love the feet!

Does wearing boots ruin that, or do the boots get ghostly too?
