I wanted to post this as it was my first legit win without any deaths. I've won once on roguelike but it was an adventurer. This char was on adventurer mode but still no deaths.
The one death showing on char page was the ending sacrifice.
So how did it go? Really well I'd say. Three times I dropped to around ?th of my HP but with many heals I could get back into the fight.
The early game was a breeze thanks to Mind Sear and Warrior Thought Form.
Those alone carried me to level 20ish. Believe it or not but it was around lv30 that I started investing on other skills in Mind Sear tree.
After maxing Mind Sear, Solipsism tree and 5/1/2/2 in Thought Forms before I opened Nightmare tree. Around the same time I started doing Antimagic, Fungus and Mindstars.
Two of my last category points I put on infusion slots, last of which I never managed to fill.
Nightmares was fun, but I felt like I could've done it without. Both Inner Demons and Night Terrors proved distraction at best. Distortion might have been better. Nightmare skill itself was useful at times.
Dominant Will must have been my third most used skill. Dominating those pesky Forge Giants and Them Antimagic Horror Blobs was golden. It made Melinda's crypt easy.
Item wise I got my Mindstars from vault a bit before lv20, also Untouchable and Crimson Robe came from there.
In the end I could summarize the whole game with five things:
1) Mind Sear (later on the whole Psychic Assault tree)
2) Thought Forms (got a bit less useful in the east when things started killing my forms)
3) Dominant Will (what Mind Sear can't one shot I Dominated)
4) Antimagic (40% Resolve and 160 point AM shield (with prodigy) were priceless)
5) Fungus (auto-use regen fixed small wounds and kept equilibrium in check)
