Maruaders fill a somewhat odd melee niche. Marauders are unique in that they do not dual wield two weapons that have the same mastery (the current optimal build is to have them dual wield daggers, but conceptually and in other versions they've wielded a 1 handed weapon and off-hand dagger). Essentially the suggestion is to have a tree that both fixes that and sets Marauders apart slightly more. All of their trees except for a single generic one are shared. Also, dual weapons training includes the precision skill which is not exactly needed by a marauder - their generic thuggery tree has a much better APR skill for no cost. Momentum is decent but if the marauder chooses to use total thuggery (one of their only real unique skills) then the stamina requirement is pretty exorbitant.
Also, Marauders don't really seem thuggish enough. Here's a few ideas, though some seem extremely difficult to code, implement, or balance.
1 - Riot-Learnt - The marauders vast experience in melee combat has made them knowledgeable of the usage of all melee weapons. The weapons mastery level of a Marauder is applied to daggers, weapons, and exotic weapons (ie not bows, staffs, or mindstars). Also, their off-hand weapon damage is increased by the same amount as dual weapons training. This is the main point. The rest of these are just somewhat ridiculous ability suggestions. Also, maybe they should know how to use staves? Dunno.
2 - Revelry - the marauder takes deep joy and pride in their work - Causes hack and back to be capable of having a second target (either enemy or ground, the backwards leap becomes targetable), each target after the additional takes 100% weapon damage. Higher talent levels allow for the targeting of up to 2 additional targets and increase the range of the leaps (each additional leap is reduced in range by 1 initially).
3 - Knockback- The marauder laughs in the face of those weaker than him - Marauders gain the ability to knock their foes backwards. Targets that are knocked into walls are dealt massive damage while those knocked into others both take half the damage. Activated ability.
4- Riot Storm - Reduces the physical save, armor, defense and physical damage resistance of the Marauder and all those in an AOE around him for a brief period. Higher talent levels increase the duration, AOE, and the effect.
5. Increases the effect of Riot Storm on affected enemies by x%
6. Riot Strike - The Marauder gathers their full strength and releases it in a mighty blow the causes aoe weapon damage after entering a stunned state for a turn. (Possibly this gains the knockback ability?)
And yes, this tree is meant to seem incredibly overpowered or separated in multiple trees. The idea of activating knockback, using hack'n'back,hitting a foe, then bouncing off of several around him knocking them all into walls just sounds fun.
