Orc race!

You know, I'm sure this has probably been brought up about a billion times, but.. well, the load screens and such say orcs are extinct, but yet you clearly fight them throughout the game. Since we can be undead and get around just fine, why not orcs??

Darkgod has said before that orcs are planned, but not a priority.
They will be in eventually, but don't expect them soon.

Orc was a playable race via a special quest reward.

I don't think it's available anymore.

Orcs has a whole module/campaign planned for them.

Oh, I see. Does that mean the other elf race (naga) will be another unlock someday too?

According to /ideas/DLCs.ods, there may someday be campaigns allowing to play Orcs, Trolls, Nagas, Spiders, Faeros, Vampires, Wights, Liches, and Sher'tuls.

How would you play as a spider? They aren't even intelligent.
Would you just go around eating adventurers?

Maj'Eyal spiders actually get pretty smart :P

The big ones, anyway.

*Spiderkin* not simple spiders. And they they are intelligent, they can cast spells, some manipulate time.
Also the spiderkin campaign would not happen on Eyal at all

Sounds neat, and I just heard about the Fylish orcs and all that. So now I feel dumb for posting this :)

Well, DG can always bring back the old-school possessors and let us play every race that leaves a corpse behind. :)



I do miss killing DarkGod and taking over his body. All those neat extra equipment slots....

All the time, DG. Most of them seem to be walking and breathing for some strange reason, but my mooks tend to correct that state of being in short order.

They're clearly leaving behind something, though, unless we're doing some kind of freaky mortal combat fatality thing with their organs before their corpse dissolves into the aether, for the alchemist quest and suchlike.

Just the animated ones, like Frumple says. At the same time, this raises the entirely serious issue of who's sneaking around and snatching away the corpses as soon as our enemies die. Is it Invisible Yeeks? I bet it's an entire race of Invisible Yeeks.

Or gremlins. We need gremlins in 43.

If you're really good, and close your eyes, the corpse fairy will come and take your bodies away, and leave you a nickel!
