How does this look ?

PS: this should take LESS cpu than the previous one :)

I don't like it.
Multiple lines like that looks wrong for lightning.
Might look better if all bolts didn't converge onto the centre of the target tile?

I... don't actually know what the current lightning looks like. I guess I should go check... think I got an AM running around somewhere... particles off 0 and...

Ah, okay. Well, yeah, as the previous poster stated. It'd look better if they weren't all converging to a point like that.

That said, the multiple line thing... if it were a bit more condensed near the center of the beam? If that's possible. Then a less dense fringe. If that makes sense? Then the tighter portion of the beam could hit in and around that version's convergence point.

Less CPU sounds blissful, though :)

The fact that they all converge to a point isn't too noticeable when there are few lines. More distressing is the way they all emerge from the player's crotch. Can you project from the race's glove location?

It does look better, though.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

don't like the awkward convergence either. still needs tweaking, i think.

Definitely has potential, though. I imagine it'll look pretty cool once those convergence issues are worked out.

I like it myself. Convergence makes sense when you're attacking something :) The only thing I'd change is having one line brighter/thicker than the others.

Yeah I knida forgot to commit it :)
I'll do when I go back home tonight :)

As for the convergence yeah,; you are targetting something, it converges.

Why have it diverge in the first place then? :P

I guess the feature still needs some more attention.
At the moment after casting a lightning spell the game freezes and has to be killed off from the task manager.

Yes,

After the committed changes. Yesterday some error messages came up, today the game just freezes.
A new archmage, lightning spell.
The spell hits the target (at least according to the message log) after that, the game freezes.
The problem occurs only after using the lightning spell.
in the te4.log nothing of interest.
I have the latest svn, and the t-engine version 5757 (I guess its the last svn version, when changes to *.c files have been made)
