Apprentice on the world map

Is it possible for the apprentice to die to adventurer parties? Mine has happened to disappear without having completed his quest.

Which version are you talking about?

In older versions (5 betas or more back) the Apprentice could drown if it was shifted onto a water square via a partrol walking over him. Or if he just started on one.

AFAIK the adventurer parties doesn't interfere with him, but I dunno.

He can be attacked yes, but it requires 22 fully healthy adventurer parties to kill him, so if it happens it only happens really late in the game

Hrm. My apprentice disappeared around level 22 on a now-deceased character. I wasn't certain if he had died to adventurer parties, or if something else weird messed things up. I have a feeling it may have been the latter, as my quest for him had disappeared entirely from the log, not being failed or completed (and I know I had picked it up, as I had turned in a few items to him not long beforehand) He disappeared after I went to the Sher'tul Fortress for the first time that game, and I had gone up and looked at the object in the northern room that lets you view all the lore you've gathered on previous characters. It was after that point that I never saw him again, so I was at a loss as to if that messed it up or if he had just somehow died.
