Keeping yeek alive

#1 Post by Postman »

Failed 3d attempt to save yeek. Tried it with arcane blade and reaver. Reaver could do absolutely nothing. With AB I tried to closed distance and stun with dual strike and flameshock, but was unsuccessful. Should I try rush instead? Looks like yeek attack Subject Z too and switch aggro on himself,
Are any class should be able to keep yeek alive, or only some?

Are you playing as a yeek or something else?

As a yeek, I've only managed it with an archmage, with liberal use of freeze and beaming spells. With a non-yeek, for some reason the yeek NPC wasn't really an issue--once I first hit Z he just bee-lined for me. I even died and resurrected and he still apparently payed no mind to the yeek guy, just came after me.

I'm trying to unlock yeek. For some reason Subject Z alway killing yeek on turn 2-3 of confrontation. I think yeek attacking him. I've played skeleton and dwarf

I did it with an Archmage. Just went in blasting (Freeze, Flame, Manathrust, Lightning, etc.).

I managed it pretty easily with a level 18 berserker.

14 Alchemist made it through quite easy as well. Golem knockback put subject z far away from the yeek so yeek dying was never a concern. Knockbacks are probably the best bet to keep yeek alive.

just beet subject z and saved the yeek on a level 9 yeek alchemist. Looks like as usual, the alchemist has the easiest time for that boss.

Archmage, make sure you got a few levels too...Freeze at high level works pretty well...

Summoners also do well actually...just put your summons between Subject Z and the Wayist so that Z will be kept away from the wayist, this means that the Yeek will only take damage from Dark Tendril...just don't use Hydra or Fire Drake...although this works best when you're a Yeek since your initial position's better...as anything else I do recommend you to summon Turtle first to try to take Z's attention away from Wayist while you move into better position to summon other monsters to block the way between the two...
Why can't TOME 4 has a secret room where you can represent game bugs as, well, enemies you can crush like in Divine Divinity? That would be cool...

Ah I see where I may have gone wrong here - the yeek was hostile to me so I shot him full of arrows too. Maybe I should have checked his faction or worn my Cloak of Deception.

On a different note, Subject Z actually killed a level 25 Cursed. Should've been a pushover, right? An afterthought? Just another boss that you kill for XP/loot since you've already unlocked Yeeks?

It would appear that he scales to your level, or something....

I could see that if he had a stun and you were short of stun resist. Shadowblades and their ilk can certainly dump out damage pretty quick, and "single powerful foe, low hate" is pretty much the worst situation to be in as a Cursed. If you had 100% stun resist, then that *is* a bit on the worrisome side.

Saved yeek with a shaloren archmage the other day, was easy. Blast Z with flame, something else. Yeek down to 86% after one hit (I think, didn't make a screen shot heh) so pd'd him to next room over and stuck myself in the doorway. Hit Z with another flame, he PD'd to the room with the yeek, so hit with other stuff. Was lev 14ish, didn't have flameshock or freeze at the time. Might have used shield rune at some point. As melee, do what responses did: Stun/crowd control Z as often as possible, try to wedge yourself between Z and yeek. As halfling, avoid fight altogether unless you wanna kill both and really want any lewt Z might have. Just takes a bit of luck and having the yeek out of the path of your spells. Now if only I could keep my yeeks alive through the initial yeek dungeons... hmm.
Having satellite internet is a lot like relying on the processes described in those RFC's for your internet. Except, instead of needing to worry about statues interrupting your connection, this time you worry about the weather. I have satellite internet. Fun, no?

If you are playing with a class that has the conveyance tree and you have invested 4 points in pd or 5 points in teleport then you can cast those spells on the yeek. Even though SB does have the tree you probably want to spend generic points in a more useful way if you are low-leveled, but as a archmage it's nice.
