Steam deck docked

Ive been playing for a while now but i recently got a steamdeck and decided to play ToME on my tv, however i cannot create a charater. I can name it and select its class, race, and gender but the buttonts on the bottom do not work, (Play, random, Load premade, custom tile, customize, and cancel) Is this a known bug? if so is there a fix for it?
