[1.7.6] Game locked on welcome screen

Hello. i downloaded version 1.7.6 and when i launch the game it gives me the welcome screen there i can register an account, disable online features, log in, etc. i can not click anything. none of the buttons work and it just sits there with the gameplay happening in the background. i cant even close the game except for force closing it with the task manager. any ideas?

As you mention Task Manager, I presume you are running TOME on Windows - could you please state which version? Have you tried Alt-Tabbing to TOME and seeing if that then works?

If you are running any software that generates overlays (e.g. Steam Overlay, framerate/system status indicators or the like) try disabling them. Also, if you are running any security software that restricts or controls the setting of hooks within Windows (if you don't know, the answer is almost certainly not) ensure you have created an exception for t-engine.exe.

Finally, try running t-engine-debug.exe to see if that changes anything.

I had the same issue when I first opened ToME via Steam. I forget how I ended up navigating the menu... Maybe it was with the arrow keys? I'd try the arrow keys, Num pad, WASD... I'm fairly sure my mouse did not register until I got past that but don't quote me, I did this roughly 6 days ago. Hope you get it working, the game looks like it will provide endless hours of fun.

I figured out what I did when I completely uninstalled ToME on my PC trying to fix issues I'm currently having - silver linings, I can help you.

You'll need to use the TAB key to select the option you'll want and then the ENTER key to select it. Unsure why the mouse doesn't register at that point. Best of luck enjoying the game!
