After having used them for a while without paying too much attention to the exact numbers I was dishing out, I eventually hit a boss I struggled dramatically against and went back to the Sher'Tul Fortress combat dummy to diagnose my low damage against the boss. Upon attacking the target dummy and looking closely at the number breakdown, I immediately noticed something strange: Moon and Star were both dealing exactly 89 damage with their On-Hit effects. I do not have the same CUN (75) and DEX (49) values, so they should not have been the same, let alone so low.
I then sought out the reason the damage numbers were 89. Remembering the 25% Light and Darkness damage multipliers the set bonus gives and the Heart of Poosh in my inventory granting +2% All damage, I quickly realized then that the non-set On Weapon Hit effects for Moon and Star (70 Dark and Light damage, respectively) were what was activating: 70 * 1.27 = 88.9 rounded to 89.
Things of note:
- I had no equipment aside from the two daggers and no passive upkeep abilities active during these tests.
- I do have some Steam Workshop addons enabled for this save. However, I disabled them for this save (by editing the desc.lua file to remove them from the addons list after backing up the base save) to no avail, and even used the Vault to give Moon and Star to a character with only two basic UI mods active for the save for further testing (also to no avail).
