[1.7.2] WASD movement can randomly think it is pressed

At seemingly random times, one of the WASD movement keys can think it is being held down, causing it to repeatedly input in that direction (which can make the character move in that direction very quickly, or it can make targeting drift to one corner of the screen). This persists over dialogue boxes, the esc menu, etc., and is only stopped by pressing in that direction once.

One example of this happening is that I pressed A to move left on the world map, I got ambushed, and as I loaded into the ambush zone, the game thought I was holding A, and I died nearly instantly since it made my character repeatedly move left in a very short span of time. I have also had this randomly come up in the middle of combat (including in 1.7.0), but I'm not sure if there's a way to consistently reproduce the issue.

The problem is definitely not with my keyboard, and the problem does not occur with WASD movement disabled. I guess one easy fix/workaround that could be implemented for this is to add an additional option with WASD movement to enable/disable repeatedly moving the character in a direction if the keys are held down.

This happened to me as well. I used A + S to move diagonally, picked up some lore which opened automatically, and after a short delay typical of holding down one of the WASD keys to continuously move, I began to move to the left until I hit the edge of the map, even with the lore opened up. I tried to move away from the edge and it immediately moved back. I turned off my wireless keyboard and tried using the mouse to move away, but it returned back to the edge. I exited the game and reloaded, and the problem was solved.

This happens if you move diagonally into any interactable object (lore, shops etc)

To get rid of the issue, just press the button you're moving into (if you keep moving to the right, press D. If down, press S etc)

Not sure if it's related to WASD movement, but it never happened before so...

Yesterday when I hit F2 (which is also mute/unmute on my laptop) it acted as though I was pressing a key for 'move right'. First time this has ever happened, pressing that key never had any reaction in the game before.

Pretty sure I tried that, but will try again when I encounter it next.
But it's great to know what triggers it.

Also WASD doesn't work for menu navigation (dialog, inventory). Might be intended, but I'd wonder why.

i just had this happen to me without using WASD
i was using the numpad to move instead; i was attacking some summoner rare chump in old forest, then the game suddenly forced me against me will to spam left movement until i died in the span of about 1 or 2 seconds, then i waited a bit to complain in chat about it, then i pushed the re-assemble button, then i immediately died again

heres an excerpt from the combat log

first, I zoned into the old forest level 3, or was it 4
and then, in sight was a cirmson crystal and a sawbutcher summoner war bear
on turn 1, i rushed the crimson crystal, and i might've taken a second turn to kill the crystal, but then the game forced me to spam movement to the left, which caused me to die very quickly
