i managed to die without dying

so like
i was fighting a PM venom drake hatchling in rhaloren camp(3) on insane as a level 13 drem solipsist in patch 1.6.1 with embers, FC, and ashes enabled; my only addon is the 1.1.5 orc pits restoration
i noticed that my thought-form defender was about to die, so I clicked overmind to give it a heal, and then I was gonna go back to controlling my solipsist the next turn to take advantage of the heal from overmind

then, on the same turn that I clicked overmind, my thought-form died after it got the heal for 163... and now I have the death popup and can't do anything except restart the character or whatever
the owner of the thought-form is alive and well at the time of the death window popping up, and still is according to the character dump button

the death message says that I was killed by my thought-form defender

EDIT: after dying and then clicking exit game, i was able to reload the save as if i wasnt dead
then, after moving 1 tile, i got cloned
i took whatever damage the clone took, which lead to be being killed(for real) by a repulsion wave crit, which hit me twice when it should've hit me once
and I don't remember if I got time skipped or not but moasseman can look at the current.png I sent him; I think I might have been time skipped
