Game crashes on startup

I wasn't able to even reach the main menu, but I solved this by updating my graphics card drivers (Nvidia). EDIT: The reason this worked is because updating my graphics drivers ended up changing my default audio device! Just putting this here in case someone else has the same issue.

EDIT: I started having instant crash to desktop on startup issues again, but this time I fixed it by choosing a different audio device as my default. "ASUS Xonar DSX Audio Device" is the one that wouldn't work. Here's some info about the audio card that won't work:

I have not tried updating the driver yet.
