Zoomed in too much/Steam/Mac

Running steam version on mac, ToMe is running at 4x the resolution. It tries to display at 2880x1800, when my monitor is only 1440x900. I've tried changing the resolution.cfg to the right resolution(and set to read-only), but it reverts back when I run the game.

Don't have a log, but the game tries to run at 1080p for me, but my monitor is 1680x1050 instead... (thus it is not a retina-related problem... I guess).

Also OSX.
