apparently, according to an mcq in ingame chat, you can cancel molten points; I assume that that is because it is a buff, rather than a debuff
I suggest that molten points be changed to be a debuff in the other category, so that inscriptions won't remove it and you can't just click it off every turn to get more flat damage resistance
