[1.4.6] Game deleting saves :-(

Twice now I have run a character in 1.4.6, then hit alt-ctrl-del then Lock, or switched profiles. When I return, the game has closed and not only has it not saved, the previous save of the char has gone. When I restart the game, it is missing from save list.

Just to help with identifying the bug, did this happen before 1.4.6?
