Just a blank screen on click play

Nothing at all happens it is just a white screen. Pretty bad. I don't have any details to give, the launcher works and then nothing.

Windows 10 machine pretty standard setup. Nothing special going on.

Log file is empty. Epic fail

Where did you look for the log file? In your T-Engine directory? Yeah, if you're using Windows 10, that might explain why it's empty. I stumbled over that as well.
Windows 10 has a special mechanism - changes to the program folders by insufficiently authorized programs, such as ToME writing to the log apparently, are offloaded to user-specific Virtual Storage. If I remember correctly, it should be something like C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files (x86)/T-Engine.
