Retaliation damage breaks daze
Having any sort of retaliation damage breaks daze on enemies when they attack you, which limits the effects of daze in melee to 1 turn. This is really, really bad. It turns out that not only is retaliation damage useless clutter that makes combat logs harder to read, it actually makes you worse! And it's impossible to avoid it, because it shows up everywhere, which makes restricting yourself to not wearing any retaliation damage items a worse gear constraint than going antimagic.
