Crystal Focus ... sucks?

Whenever I get crystal focus and it says it can combine with a weapon...

I pull up my huge list of weapons...

none. nothing. zero. wait, I finally found a total piece of total junk and now that is the only one it says it can combine with!

So, it should say what it actually does because what the text says it is not letting me do. And is it permanent? Needs to say.

crystal focus can only be combined with white equipment.
and as far as i know, it is permanent.
i believe downloading a mod called "arcanum pack" makes it reversible, however, you will not get the base item. only gem.

and no idea how it works with tirakai, or alchemist's skills.
