Corruptors minions go hostile and are invulnerable

#1 Post by Coldbringer »

So I went to the spellblaze level, fought the boss, agreed to help him fight the anti-magic guys. My AOE ability must have hit one of the minions that started off with us during the fight, so he went hostile and started attacking me. But he took zero damage from everything no matter what I did or how long I fought. Eventually just ran out of there.

Same thing happened with the merchant captive to the rogues, in attempting to rescue him, AOE damage hit him and he went hostile but he was not invuln

They're both intended. Once you kill the Zigur dudes the corruptors all gain a (it's there just to screw up characters that use aoes or get impatient if you ask me) buff called Victory Rush that makes them invulnerable, it only lasts some turns so you can just wait it out a bit and then you can slaughter them all.
(do note that you don't get the Victory Rush and they can hit you as much as they want with aoes and the game doesn't care... double standards? )
From your description it seems that the buff bugged out tho, I think I experienced something like that a few revisions ago, also during (not after) the fight. Can I suggest to just remove it? Giving random no-name crooks invulnerability is... out of place and if it does bring up bugs like this it's just a better idea to drop it imo.
As for the merchant you should always be careful not to hit him during the fight but if you do you can still save him by going up the stairs. The important thing is not to kill him ofc.

Oh I didn't know you could still save the merchant if he went hostile!

Didn't know about the victory rush buff the corruptors had, no idea how many turns I fought before fleeing.
