Game Breaking Bug - Skills Menu kills game

Whenever I press 'p', or the level up button, the screen starts flickering badly and the game won't accept any input. When I turned off shaders, some parts of the screen showed up, there was no flickering, but a dialogue window kept on popping up, and I still got the problem with input.
