Someone mentioned this in another thread, and I thought my count was a bit low, so I did a check on it. Playing Exploration at the moment to unlock things, so count was Pyromancy (Exploration) though normal Pyromancy didn't increase either (expected).
Last 3 digits beforehand: 580
Casting a fire spell on a skeleton:
Archmagus Ye hits Skeleton master Archer for 234 fire damage.
Archmagus Ye kills Skeleton master archer!
Check Pyromancer for progress.
Last 3 digits still 580.
Likely goes for Cryomancer and probably actually makes it more difficult to get that achievement the more raw fire damage you do (since you're more likely to have that fire damage kill the enemy).

Was hoping to unlock both during this archmage run, but it's not being very effective. Heard alchemist is easier for it.

I really want to see this fixed. I mean, everybody's always talking about how good wildfire is, but... I can't imagine how I'd ever manage 1,000,000 non-killing fire damage without playing the game obsessively or using some sort of exploit.
