[1.1.5] Portal out of Tannen's tower missing

As the topic says, I went through Tannen's tower of fun, beat up him and his drolem, got the message about a portal appearing, but nothing actually appeared.

I was playing a Yeek Solipsist, and I suspect the issue could have been the portal spawning under a maelstrom. As you can't recall out of the tower, my character is kind of stuck.

We used to have this issue in the assasin's underground lair, when the stairs out wouldn't spawn if under maelstrom. so the fix dg used there (MANY versions ago) would probably apply here too I suspect.
