Orc prides disappeared from map

I'd finished everything up to high peak and was grinding XP in farportals. When I left fortress I got 'lush forest' notification for oozemancer dungeon, and all of the sudden my whole world map was unexplored. When I went to enter high peak, the orc pride entrance was gone. All four are missing, as well as quest dungeons like valley of the moon. Is there any way I can get in to high peak still and finish the game? It's really frustrating to be this close and denied.

I have the exact same, got ground shaking event text on teleporting back to East to finish my game, and everything suddenly was unexplored and lacking the orc prides.

Also no quest NPCs in Gates of Morning.

Edit: looking around, I see this might follow on crashes / unclean exits, and in my case I've had those, so likely the culprit.

If salvaging the savefile is necessary so you can continue, you can try sending it here http://tome.gatheringspot.org/hesk/ where stunt of the litter will handle and resolve the conflict, if possible. Worst case, he can at least force you into high peak.
