When you are pinned, dazed, or otherwise entirely immobile (the crystal race from NewGems also counts for this), swapping places with allies (necrotic minions, summons etc) doesn't take any time at all. This can be used to get away from an enemy that just used rush to daze you, for instance.

This is one of the reasons why pet classes are so much EASIER on higher difficulty levels.

Something daze your solipsist in starting area ? No problem You can swap places with your thought form and mind sear it in same turn !
