Backup Guardians in Alternate Dungeons

#1 Post by Davion Fuxa »

Not sure if this is as much of a bug but will note that Backup Guardians tend to spawn on the floors dictated in the Wiki - figured I'd point this out. For example, you'll find the Spellblaze Simulacrum on level 3 in the Alternate Scintillating Caves instead of at the end.

Anyhow (and to the main issue), another Alternate Sandworm Tunnel thing to report is that the Huge Sandworm Burrower continues to exist when the Backup Guardian has been spawned. I wouldn't say I'm against this continuing since it makes it far easier to chase across half the map with the Huge Worm then not, though it certainly feels out of theme.
Its amazing what the mind can come up with, but it shows talent to make something of it. - Davion Fuxa

I cant find the backup worm. I've scanned all levels in the sand for a while now.
Same in alternate maze - no backup found there either. Anyone else experienced this?

I think the Wiki is often extremely out of date. We need more people to update it with version info…

More on your point tough, I sometimes have to give up because I can't find a backup guardian, most specifically in the Trollmire and the Ancient Elven Ruins. I dig though every spot that I can but alas, sometimes it's nowhere to be found. I'm not sure if I'm just consistently missing them in those two dungeons (which happens about half of the time) or what but it kind of sucks.

the map can generate with air pockets near edges, so the best option is to use teleport endlessly till you find it, or form of mapping (burning star etc). it will be there. it is THE most important backup guardian for two very important reasons, one of which is critical to winning for many classes, the other is for fun. (read spoilers if u don't know and want to).
