In infinite, golems level up just like player, gaining generic talents, category points, lives (not used) and most importantly - prodigies.
While this makes them much more interesting than regular golems, the result is friendly fire (golem doesn't know about Giant Leap AoE), huge pile of useless generic talent points and error box when prestidigitation on golem ends while the player character is selected.
The last one might even be possible to replicate in normal game and worth its own thread, though there's no reason to ever put chronomancy on golem other than to see how does it NOT work.
Meteor showering, mind assaulting horror is more fun than the regular stone terminator and I'd love to see it integrated instead of removed, but it doesn't seem intended at all.

I reported this about 6 versions ago.
One of the fun things you can do is give the golem Arcane Might and Wordly Knowledge (giving it the full Celestial/Light tree), and then just watch the golem clear out entire ID levels, including vaults, by itself.
