As above. Entered, first skill cast was my 5/5/1/1 'Elemental Split' and... the boss summoned two shades. who then each cast elemental split. It was chaos! I won, barely and know they were two seperate shades as there are two exit stairs, one under each.

Similar thing just happen to me.
I'm player a former thaloren necromancer, and my doomed shade made another doomed shade of me.
The first doomed shade said the text that the cultist uses to spawn the first doomed shade.
