[RC1]Automatic window sizing freeze

#1 Post by Fizanko »

Hello,

On my windowXP 32 bits , i was unable to launch ToME4 B42, the window seems to get an automatic size that cover a bit more than half my screen in height and the full of it in width (my monitor is 1024*768) and seems stuck there.

After a while it's obvious the game is frozen and i have to kill the program that is stuck.

Now if i go to :
C:\Documents and Settings\MYUSERNAME\T-Engine\4.0\settings\
Open the resolution.cfg that is there and change the line
window.size = "1080x675"
(weird choice for the automatic sizing ?)
into
window.size = "800x600"
or
window.size = "1024x768"

And launch ToME4 B42 ,the game will load correctly and i can play, change options etc...

bug is still there in RC1 :

I have RC1 running and was having lot of fun in windowed 800x600 (as RC1 was using the same resolution setting i had to manually setup in the resolution.txt as mentionned in previous post, or it wouldn't launch)

At some point of the game i decided to switch to 1024x768 , through the Video option ingame.
And ... RC1 was totally stuck, the music was still playing but nothing for more than a minute.
I killed the game with ctrl+at+tab and tried to launch it.

Then it strangely takes forever to launch and once it finally reach the menu, music play but the game is totally frozen.

I decided to give a look if by any chance the bug i reported was still there, and indeed tome4 again same as in b42 when i reported the bug, still does not correctly assign the resolution i selected ingame in the resolution.cfg

Despite i selected 1024x768 in the video option, when i look in the resolution.cfg :
window.size = '1024x753'

Editing this file manually to
window.size = '1024x768'

Still the game isn't launching, unless i double click on the window header (i play in windowed mode) to "dock" it to my screen, and then it load.

I don't know if this is a windowed mode-only problem or if it's a windows OS only problem, but it's very odd i have to do this stunt to get the resolution change working and the game loading.

It's like ToME4 has a lot of problem to make its windowed mode correctly working if the resolution of the window is equal to the resolution of the desktop (i use 1024x768).
