Connection Problem (b40)

I can stay connected to the server about 98% of the time, read the speech of, and speak to, other players as well, but every single time I go to make a new character I lose connection until I either back out to the main menu or complete the creation process and start playing. This denies my donator status during character creation. . .

Is there some way the game could verify at the main menu that the player is a donator, and then again whenever a new character is created (just to make sure someone didn't hack a file) so that loss of connection at that phase doesn't deny them the ability to play in Explore mode? It gets a little hard to learn the game when I keep running out of lives.

{Edit: 6-27} Seems I'm not being disconnected so much as it says "No active profile" because I can see people talking at the birth screen. I can still access my unlocks, like Archmage or Arena mode, but not my donator status.
