Occasionally, I enter a level and there are two @ at the stairs. (not a escort quest either, the other @ is another me.)
One of the @s is stuck. If this happens, movement of the free @ is impossibly slow and leaving the level is the only reasonable option. Resting for one turn takes at least several seconds.
I also see the message
"ran for 1 turns (stop reason: didn't move)"
I don't know if this is important, but it seems to summarize the problem.
This has happened to me on a range of chars, before and after applying the b37 bugfix addon.
Most recently it happened on a level that was previously explored, (lvl 1 of Norgos') but I've had the same thing happen in the Troll forest too.
I happen to be running on W7.

I run with cheats available, so this advice probably won't help anyone that doesn't. I've noticed that if you cheat-teleport on top of the duplicate that you'll merge again, restoring things back to normal.

I've found killing your copy helps, though this problem has all sorts of potential problems. For starters, sometimes damage done to your copy seems to happen to you, so run a few weak tests before you open up with everything. Second, a similar report from someone else was that they couldn't hurt their copy at all, so there's that. I've also managed to time-prison my copies, which appeared to be permanent(rendering them invulnerable).
I've noticed that even in the best-case scenario, you get the "screen goes red" effect as you wound your copy, and doesn't go away until your own hitpoints go away. I've never died by killing my own copy, but I could see it happening, so perform emergency removal surgery at your own risk, I guess.

Thanks. I decided to kill the no good basta... myself.
It was a long ordeal because of the delay between actions.
She's dead, and I'm moving without crazy delay. Things seem back to normal. (I should have checked to see if I was awarded any exp.)
I did note that the red screen effect came on as damage was dealt. I waved the cursor around the screen and it disappeared. Figured it might be a good idea to do that before carrying on killing the beast, but I have no idea what the effect in absence of this treatment might have been.
