Golem never forgets.

#1 Post by GreenyMark »

So, here's a little story about how certain bugs can make your regular play-through really exciting.
Well, i wanted to unlock corruptor, went to spellblaze mark and agreed to destroy the antimage guys.
I was transported to the location with my fellow corruptors - but oddly enough without a golem.
No prob - invoke golem, and here we are lock'n'load and ready for action - quite low on HP and mana though.

And that's where I got the problem. The golem decided that he won't tolerate that shit and attacked corruptors.

Yep. Guys turned hostile immideatly(such a sissies, honestly - just one little kick from a golem, why all the fuss?).

So what do we have? Rogue-like permadeath, two corruptors and boss behind, couple of antimages and another 30th lvl boss in front.
Aaand halfdestroyed golem and brick-shitting alchemist(I think it'd be great if this situation gave me an unlockable "Brickmagic" talent tree) without options to teleport inbetween.

Don't worry - everything ended happily, both radical factions leaders have died horrible deaths, and golem and Grundick lived happily ever after.
While i had some unique game experience today, I didn't get the corruptor unlockable and will have to grow another 20th lvl mage for this. Kinda sad.

Tried to acquire game log - but game halted and i had to forcefully close it. And when i restarted it and loaded the log was empty.
Playing b37 offline no mods or anything.

This applies(to a lesser extent) to other situations too. If your golem(or any allied NPC, as far as I can tell) targets an enemy, even telling them to target something else just seems to temporarily distract them. I had golem desperately trying to get into a vault at one point because a vampire had teleported away into it(hax!), while I preferred to clear the level before stirring up that particular nest.

Maybe the golem's target should clear any time they lose sight of a target? Or at least after a certain number of turns of no visual, so that enemies that are out of the way(like molds) or who can teleport don't become hassles if you don't go chasing them down immediately.

I third this golem experience. Apparently Golems LOOOVEEEE white wolves....at least thats what I concluded after it would sit at a vault door ALLLL DAY. Retargeting was temporary and quite irritating.

My new alchemist encountered the bug again. Twice.
First the Great Corruptor guy attacked me once more during AntiAntiMagic quest.
Secondly, in the Unremarkable Cave was attacked by Fillarel Aldaren after Krogar was defeated.
I was quite cautious with AoEs and have checked my golem's target - it seems that allies becoming hostile not due to attacks from golem.
Maybe it is because of AOEs of NPC hitted golem?
Anyhow, have lost another unlockable due to this....
