[b34] memory management

#1 Post by Atarlost »

Tome CTD'd with an out of memory error shortly after reaching the east. I don't use a swap file, but this would still have required Tome to eat more than a gig of memory. This happened when looting the corpse of the named orc who had been fighting the elf.

Something isn't getting deallocated from active memory. It's not zone size because I had just arrived at the zone.

Restoring the character leaves me in a randomly generated unremarkable cave (1) rather than replaying the scripted encounter as expected with an autosave having happened at the beginning of the zone. It also has the game using a much more reasonable 160-ish megabytes.

{edit} and it just did it again. I was looking at the task manager this time and memory use just started climbing for no apparent reason.
