In the low levels in b27/b28 there's a variety of useful wands, but as the game goes on, useful wands become more and more rare. By the late game almost all (certainly more than 75%) are unenchanted and useless. Is there a plan for these unenchanted wands or is this a bug?
Possibly related, I've noticed a serious lack of plain amulets in the last few games I've played. On a complete play through I found only one plain copper amulet (in a shop, no less).

Plain rings and amulets are rare, but I've seen em. Biggest character yet (died in Grushnak after going back west and then destroying Rak'Shor) prolly saw 20-25. But on the other hand, only one was a stralite ring, and only one was a voratun amulet. Rest were gold and worse. Rate seemed to drop in the East.

There are a lot of yellow amulets dropping in the east.Hedrachi wrote:Plain rings and amulets are rare, but I've seen em. Not any of them seems to be superiour so I still looking.....
I found one white stratelite amulet.
Managed to help the jeweller in the valley.
Created a amulet with 8% res all and 8% extra damage.
I have no idea what is best so I just went for the 2 best jewels I had thinking they might help.
Might not have been the best amulet created.
Now IF (big if) I find that yellow jewel I so often found before (not in this game though) how do I make a kick ass bow from my white elf-bow?
I now have a violet thaloran bow of speed which is ok, but I assume there are better bows.
BTW What is best, 60% speed and 11% extra damage, or 80% speed and 21% extra damage???
My guess was the 60% speed bow, but I really do not know.

Not really sure if the Crystalline Focus can be used on bows, or if it can, what good it'd do. If you're in the East... don't count on finding it. The most likely spot to find the focus is on the Spellblaze Crystal boss in the scintillating caverns; if it didn't have the crystal and none of the stores did, you're probably not going to see the crystal this character. If you get it, and it works well on bows, use it on a dragonbone bow. Saw two white ones before dying the last time I was in the East.

How?Hedrachi wrote: use it on a dragonbone bow.
Re: Dead wands and no amulets
As I said, not sure if it can be used on bows. If you get the crystal, 'u'se it in your inventory, so long as you also have a white weapon in your inventory. A window will come up with a list of all white weapons you can use the crystal with. Said use it on a dragonbone bow because dragonbone is the highest quality bow in the game (it's the wooden equivalent of voratun), and I thought you meant you wanted to use the crystal on an elven-wood bow from your
Last time I saw the crystal and had a character that could have benefited from it there was possibly a bug with it, it might destroy your rod of recall or something. So if the bug still exists, might be wise to drop the rod of recall before using the crystal... and this is entirely dependent upon the crystal working on bows in the first place, heh.Tom wrote:Now IF (big if) I find that yellow jewel I so often found before (not in this game though) how do I make a kick ass bow from my white elf-bow?
Re: Dead wands and no amulets
The Crystal Focus doesn't help ranged weapons much. It doesn't affect the actual ammo, which is the part that does the damage, so a Crystalline bow will not do arcane damage.
