[b26b] Lost Merchant Bug
Three times now I've played a dwarf anorithil in which the Lost Merchant quest has led to a game breaking bug. Each time the program just stopped and closed down all by itself, and when I loaded the character, defeat the boss, I can't go up the stairs!

Same thing happened with a Yeek Archmage of mine.
Ghoul never existed, this never happened!

Did you happen to die and go see the Eidolon each time ?

I ran into (possibly) this same bug earlier. If you force quit/crash/etc... and reload, you do not have the quest, therefore you can't finish it by leaving. You can fix this in cheat mode (debugging in High Spoilers in wiki) There is a bug in how saves are done when you end process/force quit.

It saves you entering the area, but it does not save you getting the quest. This leaves you in the Unknown Tunnels without the Trapped! quest, leading to a lua error when you try to leave.
