13 bugs/issues

#1 Post by gruevy »

I could've split these up over 13 posts, but... I'm lazy.

1 - Font issues. In the message window, the [ and ] look like the number one. This matters because damage is shown as [64.35].

2 - The music replays too often. There should be a period of silence between replays of the music. Constant looping is annoying.

3 - Messages in chat are lost in fight text, and switching to chat only makes it so you miss things, like what item you stepped on. You have to constantly switch for chat to work, and it's annoying, and therefore useless. Chat and combat text should each have their own windows.

4 - Pressing enter on lore no longer closes the lore window. You have to hit escape. This is annoying, especially since most of the lore I've seen 8 bajillion times. Please change it back.

5 - The font in the skills display, where you're buying points, is spaced apart way too much. You can't see what the next skill level does without scrolling down, and this is a hassle. Also, it doesn't need to repeat the entire text for the skill again on the next level up--just the things that increase.

6 - The spell crit message is bad. Right now it says, "gruevy's spell looks more powerful" which to me says that it leveled up. The crit message should be something less weird like "Your firebolt spell did extra damage!" or "Your firebolt spell was a critical!" or something.

7 - There's a date in the game's magical calendar that says the 11st.

8 - In the shops, the info box about what the item is covers the price. This is really annoying.

9 - When you hit 5 to waste a turn, the game doesn't need to tell me again that I'm standing on something. I know already.

10 - When you cast hex spells, they cannot be targeted through dark (black) squares like other spells can.

11 - When you have one armor of one type, and mouse over armor in your inventory of a different type, it doesn't give a comparison box. For example, if I have on mail, and I want to compare with plate, it won't pop up.

12 - Targetting on dig items should default to right next to you, instead of where your last spell was cast. Sometimes it's halfway across the map, and I have to move my mouse to place it properly. This is more hassle than it needs to be. Ideally, it would automatically target the space opposite the direction you just walked from.

13 - There's a type in the sun paladin skill tree "Combat Veteran". It says "Combat Veterant".

EDIT:

14 - That thing where the summertide vial wouldn't light up the square you're on? Sun Flare does that now.

Not all spells that crit do damage. How about "gruevy's spell surges with power!"

I think this is a problem with a lot of targeted things - it'll try targeting half way across the map. Perhaps the simplest thing is if there's nothing in LOS to autotarget then it should centre on the player.

I agree with this and will expand to say that the text flashing at the top of the screen is all put unseen. It switches too fast and is distracting. Again, I am a big fan of choices, so perhaps a toggle to allow or remove it. :)

Yes, and oddly on my screen a display of the number '1' really looks like '11', heh.

A small point, but when login into my account, it would be nice to use the universal 'Tab' key to move between login name and password.

You can press 5 to center it onto yourself.
