Went down to the last level of SWL.
The action heated up immidiately, with Queen sitting a few rooms away, and the staircase surrounded by assorted NPCs.
After an INTENSE fight, my archmage started collecting loot...
...yet something kept on hitting him.
A blue jelly, that was nowhere to be seen, and that seemed to be hitting him since some time, each round.
The jelly was not on visuals, the constant hitting did not stop when characted moved.
What helped was ascending the staircase.
I am not positive if the "jelly effect" was from the first step on the level - yet it's possible.
The semi-unusual things that happened is i think there was some monster killed by the sand during the fight, but that happens in that dungeon more often.
Below I paste the stdout.txt file, some insights regarding the SWL and bugs there - are you sure the memory is properly killed when actor is crushed by the sand? This seems like the only real difference in what happens there and in other dungeons.

Err, the stdout.txt, even zipped, is slightly above the max size for attached file. Should I cut the file, or whatnot?
Re: [b18] weirdness in sand worm's lair
Ok, cut the file to remove everything before meeting the staircase to the last level of the SWL.

Re: [b18] weirdness in sand worm's lair
Sounds like the old bug where a monster was generated (or summoned) on the stairs on top of the PC. If you moved, you could see (and kill) the jelly on the stairs.
Re: [b18] weirdness in sand worm's lair
IIRC i did move (i had to loot the queen's corpse after all), and yet the "jelly effect" kept on hitting me until i left the level.
Re: [b18] weirdness in sand worm's lair
If it is the "overlap effect" then it can take a few moves for the jelly to dislodge itself from you IIRC. Not sure why that is now that I think about it...
<DarkGod> lets say it's intended
