Found the staff of destruction while I was wearing it...
Also, when unidentified, it appears as an "ash staff" instead of something more explicit like a "black staff" or whatever...

Re: Staff of destruction
When you look at it on the ground and are told you see an ash staff this is subtly peculiar
My current hobbit was just offered the staff in Angolwen. Fresh from the Maze with its bucketful of humming daggers, for a lark he sold everything - I mean everything - with about 0.03 gold to spare. I'm not even going to let him visit Trollshaws for basic scrolls and potions, he's Level 14 or so and being sent to Tol Falas armed only with staff and birthday suit. Doing a similar stunt in T2 (that piggin' black market has a lot to answer for) usually led to an early grave, time will tell.
edit - ouff ! ... that was not Scoosh's best idea, amongst other things he's decided that having a lantern might be helpful, is going somewhere a bit less deathly instead.

It's a different colour when you see it on the ground, though. A little bonus for being alertghostbuster wrote:Found the staff of destruction while I was wearing it...
