Cannot sell Bill's Tree Trunk in shops

Is that intended? I didn't check with other artifacts yet, but Bill's Tree Trunk cannot be sold in shops. You still get the message "Sell Bill's Tree Trunk for 0.50 gold?" but pressing the "Sell" button doesn't do anything.

I had no problems selling it. I ID'd it before though.
