Seeing items by pressing 5

This is more an annoyance than a bug. When you move on top of an item, you get a message something like "You see an item here: ham." But when you're already standing on an item (suppose you've just identified it without picking it up), and you'd like to know what you're standing on, you either have to pick it up or move away and come back. I'd like to hit keypad5 to stand still and get the message "You see an item here: identified ham."
