beta 9: problem with hotkeys and mouse targetting

if you use the hotkeys and then try to use the mouse to target a spot, nothing happens. No errors in stdout.txt, I get this:

I wonder if this is what happened to one of my previous character's phase door spell.

I use hotkeys and which ever form of targeting is most convenient. For phase door that's almost always mouse targeting.

Was it putting the spell on cooldown, showing the graphic, and consuming energy Shoob? Or no effect all together?

right now I am playing with channel staff, it is even more interesting, as if it doesnt have a target, it doesnt go, and if it doesnt go, it doesnt use a turn, mana, or anything...

Hmm... my mouse targeting seems to be working fine (hotkey, move the mouse to the target, both enter and right mouse work for casting).

This also isn't what happened to my phase door. Was triggering the cooldown, taking mana, and producing no effect like I'd targeted a wall.

hmm, I am left mouse clicking as that is more normal, if I use space or enter I think it does work though.

I definitely can replicate with Shoob is mentioning. In fact, I thought that was an intended behavior.

Shoob told me on IRC he uses left click, well left click IS meant to cancel

I find using left click to mean cancel extremely counter-intuitive. It's the direct opposite of what the left mouse button normally means in windowing systems.
