Infinite zero-damage loop (dazed? demon plane?)

Went down to the second level of the Mark of the Spellblaze. Shot a Moonlight Ray at a spellcaster, and saw some spells headed toward me, so I took one step off the stairs. Then I died immediately (holy SHIT) after being hit by a curse of vulnerability and I-don't-even-know-what-else. Resurrected with the Blood of Life. Activated a different Hymn and Chant, finished off that wounded spellcaster, and then....

Well, I'm not sure WHAT happened, but I believe there was some Dazed going on, and monsters moved toward me, while I was never given a chance to act. I was hit over and over and over for zero damage, and eventually I just had to "kill -9" the process.

(I seem to recall reading about a similar problem somewhere on the forum, but now I can't find it!)

In the log, it says I was taken to the Demon Plane, and then brought back. I don't know whether that's relevant.

I got something similar happening - took 2 steps off the stairs, got taken to demon plane (all black). Shortly after was returned. stuck in limbo with some mobs floating around. I can't use talents or move, but I can use items, so summoned to get rid of mobs. Time wasn't ticking for me so recall seemed to do nothing. Teleport proved fatal.
