Reward? What reward?

So, for the first time ever, I beat Ukruk. Cool!

Go to Minas Tirith; talk to the elder. "Good boy. Gimme that staff. Here's a reward."

Nothing.

Nothing new in my inventory; nothing new on the ground.

Why, you lying little.... I want my reward!

Looking at the dump, it doesn't look like it's even trying to give me anything. I'm assuming this is more of an omission in the story line rather than a bug in the program.

I think DarkGod is going to remove that reference and give players a new achievement instead. I was pissed off myself when it happened, especially since I didn't want to hand over my precious new staff...

I think Ukruk should drop a random artifact just like (almost) all the other bosses will in beta 14. It's consistent, solves the problem, and eliminates the need to agree on a worthwhile reward from the elder.

Hehe I thought the exact same thing! After finally scrounging up enough resources to beat him, and after the very intense battle, you are rewarded with...nothing!!

I did indeed assume it was just a lack of implemented reward, so I was disappointed but moved on. I do like the idea of Ukruk giving a random artifact, but also what about having the king swap a random non-gamebreaking utility item for the staff? e.g. a rod of blinking, rod of trap disarming or something.
