no quest list in 12b?

CTRL + Q does not get me a quest list. still running linux ubuntu.

did a compile and run both compiles in gdb. here's some output:

I'm able to bring up the quest list with the ctrl-q as normal. Maybe try re-installing?

was about to post about this. the bug occurred when re-creating an older character. built a brand new archmage and the quest list is there as should be.

it happened again. after i accepted the mage quest. as i recall this was the case on the earlier occurence, after giving him a staff. tried again, this time just listening. quest log is still there.

i tried a clean install. the following happened:

1. could no longer play archmages (as expected)
2. all former achievements were gone (as expected)
3. could select player race skeletons
4. the quest list was there all the time
5. when my character was hurt with many hostiles in sight, the game simply stopped
6. completed mage's quest
7. created an archmage
8. no more quest list
9. the old achievements mysteriously reappeared (?)

I see the error, the escort quest is destroying your quest log. Did you refuse it ?

Now a new install should not remove your achievements or unlocks.
When you did the mage quest you got the message saying you unlocked Archmages ?

As for your achievements even if you had wiped them somehow they came back automatically thanks to your online profile

windows? not at home since late april this year. running under linux now. ubuntu 10.04 64 bits to be precise.

btw. i accepted an escort quest, completed it and the quest log is still there. and yes: achievements and unlocks were back after logging in on profile.

edit 1: and yes: after completing the mage quest i got this unlock message.

edit 2: running game in gdb now.

Can you please compile the game from sources, see there: http://te4.org/Download for instructions.

See if it runs better (i.e: no crashes)

looks stable so far. quest log will pop up as meant to be. no crashes.

now if i could really get the hang of escort quests... the geezers ask for protection and then charge headlong into any hostile. the suicidal maniacs! the even tend to prevent me from killing hostiles to protect them. in an unguarded moment i even killed one of the geezers... :oops:
