I was fighting in the assassin's lair and there was a piece of heavy armor on the exit. This put my character over the encumbrance limit, but thinking that I would be unable to return to the scene I decided to go ahead and pick up the armor and exit the zone. The problem? You apparently cannot drop things on the world map. :D

1) A check should be made that nobody can use stairs while overburdened... this should fix the problem
2) There's a bigger problem with stairs: when the player goes up or down, the actual "location" of the character seems to be totally unknown by the game engine (the '@' tile totally disappears), leading to some incoherence like monsters moving on the same spot as the character... happened to my last character with the Sandworn Queen (in this case, the monster cannot target you anymore... but you can still kill it by targeting yourself and bypassing the warning message :? )

Both are old issues, I'd've thought. Regression maybe?
