The Cask of Amontillado

#1 Post by mirrizin »

So, here's a saga for ya.

Killed the Shade of Angmar. Found numerous staves and a dwarven steel mail coat of fire resistance on the way up. Fell into the thieves' lair after some wandering, and the game crashed while I was in the throes of slaughter. I hadn't saved. Fool was me. :(

Loaded, played some more, killed the wizard again after a bit more trouble, saved. Then, in the shop, encountered the glitch that happens when you accidentally cause the mouse to highlight other items while in the middle of a transaction. In the process of trying to sort out the item mess from behind a window full of arrows, I lost just about all of the money I'd saved through the trollshaws and amon sul. :x

The one thing that kept me playing at this point was a dwarven steel longsword. Those seem hard to find.

Aaanyway, for the final bug, I am now in the thieves' den, again, and killed a trio of bandits. Woo hoo. Then I noticed that I couldn't get to one of the drops, just south of me. Looking closely, the drop appears to be embedded in the wall of the dungeon, inaccessible. It seems that a rogue materialized in a wall of "solid stone" and, upon being slain, left his stuff similarly entombed. If it helps, the item only appears within my light radius. When I move away, it appears to be boring grey stone. For irony's sake, I hope he dropped a bottle of fine wine under that rough leather cap.

If someone else has already posted on something like this, my apologies. I usually consult Gwai before posting, but Gwai is currently on the phone.

Questions? Comments? Suggestions?

The lack of a digger is annoying!
