When I create a character with the same name as a previous one which still has a savegame, the old character get *silently* overwritten.
I suggest: either adding '001' to the filenames, but differentiating characters on the load game screen, not overwriting silently and giving a chance to rename, or just renaming the character to X the 2nd.
Unrelated, I noticed if I have two groups of iron shot with different damages, they'll eventually get grouped as a single group.

Re: Character name conflicts
1) Until we get functionality to delete characters, maybe silent delete is not such a bad thing...
2) Yes, not a bug, but a feature. "Oh yes each and every arrow is its own object, no cheating", they are used in LIFO (last in first out), so the last arrows onto the stack will be the first ones fired, however the stack description won't update if all the arrows of a certain group are out

2) Huh, I was gonna save the higher damaging ones and remove the lower ones...
Also, Rings of freezing - their description just says 'damage' - doesn't seem to work with ranged damage. Perhaps it should specify melee. I imagine other damage rings don't work with ranged stuff either.

Re: Character name conflicts
It says it increases cold damage, not just any damage and it does not add damage.
It means if one of your attack deal cold damage, you'll do x% more but it wont add cold damage to a physical (or fire, ...) attack

Re: Character name conflicts
Registering, if you're like me and are bugged by the combining arrows, remember you can always get around it. However, the number of steps required shows why I dislike the need to do so. One turn to drop the good ones you just made, another turn to take the wielded ones off, third and fourth turn walk somewhere else and drop worse ammo, fifth turn walks to the good ones, sixth picks them up and 7th wields them. I'll shut up, because I'm sure I'm rather a broken record here, but that's rather arduous!

It's not a huge deal.
I did notice that identified arrows can get combined with unidentified ones. That's probably unintended.

Re: Character name conflicts
I believe it does not matter. I routinely do not id arrows (or shot) I just use them. Once we start getting cursed stuff that behaviour will change.registeringislame wrote:It's not a huge deal.

So the only change I would see coming is not being able to combine cursed or useless ammunition with the good stuff.

Ego ammo does not (or if it does it is a bug) combine with normal arrows

See if you can find a ring that increases physical damage (massacre I think they are?). I had one archer routinely doing 600 damage with his steady shot at level 13.Also, Rings of freezing - their description just says 'damage' - doesn't seem to work with ranged damage. Perhaps it should specify melee. I imagine other damage rings don't work with ranged stuff either.
